You are going to create a brief video that could either be considered a Public Service Announcement or a short documentary on a character education trait.



You video must contain at least three of the following video elements:

  1. split screen (with video on one side)
  2. split screen (with still images on one side)
  3. split screen (with text on one side)
  4. green screen (with video embedded)
  5. green screen (with text embedded)
  6. green screen (with still images embedded)
  7. student acting
    1. students interacting with other students
    2. students interacting with adults
    3. students interacting with still image (split screen or green screen)
    4. students interacing with video (split screen or green screen)
    5. still images of students acting
    6. students using puppets (sock or paper bag)


You video must contain at least two of the following audio or graphic elements:

  1. voice over
  2. text on screen

You video must contain each of the following message elements:

  1. defining the character trait
  2. showing examples of the character trait
  3. identifying an actual person (could be famous or not) who embodies the character trait
  4. call to action-let the audience know they should practice the trait:
    1. "Here's how YOU can be...!"
    2. Share five ways anybody can bring the trait to life on a daily basis.


You must turn in the following:

  1. storyboard
  2. script
  3. shot list
  4. completed video


You will be graded on the following:

  1. storyboard completion (10 points)
  2. script (10 points)
  3. shot list (10 points)
  4. Video
    1. clarity of message (10 points)
    2. editing (10 points)
    3. overall appearance (10)
